
The new Wiesmann GT MF5 although has made it in time for the Frankfurt Motor Show but sadly will not be appearing there. The reason? Well, Wiesman didn’t find the space allocated for it at the show to its liking and so instead of the original plan of a high-profile debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Weismann has decided to launch its new GT in its very own dealership at the Frankfurt on its opening night.
The new Weismann GT MF5 will have the powerful BMW’s V10 under its hood that is despite the fact that it is a front mounted mid-engine vehicle. The MF5 will rev to tune of 507hp with 520Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a sequential seven-speed transmission system with variable differential lock.
The engineers of Weismann have spent a great time in developing the MF5’s high performance chassis that would ensure a comfortable ride and above all safety at all times. The GT MF5’s rear wing and diffuser has given the back-end enough downforce at higher speeds since it’s for this very reason that the MF5 was built.
Dipl.-Kfm. Friedhelm Wiesmann spokesman of the board as quoted at the press release found at worldcarfans.com as saying: "Our intention is to meet these demands with the GT MF 5. This new sports car tops off our portfolio of models, setting the new benchmark when it comes to the Wiesmann sports cars’ driving performance – which is rather impressive anyhow."
Dipl.-Ing. Martin Weismann, Managing Director in Charge of Development and Production also said: "Compared to the normal GT, it is already the outer appearance of the MF 5 that would be outstanding: both a wing as well as a diffuser generate the necessary rear-suspension drive line, thus ensuring an excellent stability especially for those high-speed moments. A lot of effort went into the development of a high-performance chassis to make sure the MF 5 driver will enjoy the ride and yet will at all times be safe no matter what."
